Life

This week I started a job after almost 7 years of being a stay at home mom. I work two days a week, 9a.m.-1p.m. It is perfect but wouldn't you know the first day I went to work the school called and informed me that Mr. C had split his ear open on the soccer goal post while trying to catch a ball. I left work, took him to his pediatrician and left with five stitches in his ear.
I decided to work an extra day this week so I could figure out the computer system. Of course, the school calls me again informing me that Mr C is throwing up. Wouldn't you know it!!! I have never been called from the school to come pick up any of my children until I start a new job, it figures.
What is so funny is last week I told Ted what a great year this has been in the "healthy department". Everyone has managed to stay away from the "swine flu" and we have had a total of 3 colds and that is it. I knew as soon as I voiced how wonderful it had been we would be knocked down with something. I'm just hoping Mr C will be feeling much better tomorrow because it's my official day to work. I know if I wasn't working, he would be healthy as ever. I have to confess, the doctor I am working with is amazing and I could cancel any day if I needed to.
We did some snowshoeing last Saturday and it was a blast. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning with the kids!

For the love of Science

This has been the substance of our evenings here in the hood. I'm so grateful it's no longer our life.
***Note to self: Next year, don't wait until the bitter end to get it done. Start early, end early.

Behind or Ahead

Should I be embarrassed that I still have a Christmas wreath on my door???

I'm just trying to keep the Christmas spirit alive here in my neighborhood. Actually, I'm getting an early start for 2010. Yes, that is how I like to look at it, everyone else is behind for Christmas 2010 and I'm just a little early!!

Success, in a wierd kind of way

I should have been painting today but instead I went shopping at some silly discount store. I hate when I do that, but I don't hate it enough not to do it!!!! I found some seven dollar shoes and an eight dollar sweater, a semi-successful day, in a weird kind of way.

I hope your day was just as successful!!

Sit down, relax

I finally purchased some chairs for my table. I have been dreaming of new chairs for over a month, since Thanksgiving to be precise. I have been saving money for the last 4 years. We can actually sit down around the table for dinner. We have been sitting around our kitchen island since October and that is o.k., but we only have four stools. So, we all know what that means, I don't sit!!!

So if you need a place to sit and relax, come on over, stay awhile. I might even have dinner ready.

Christmas 2009

Now that I have finally gotten all of the laundry caught up and my house isn't in complete shambles I might actually have a spare moment to post about our Christmas.

I never would have thought we would DRIVE to Mazatlan, Mexico but we did!!! We have some great neighbors that invited us and we decided we may as well. Now, I have to confess I did not want to go. It wasn't until the day we left that I finally succumbed to my destiny. Now that we are back I have to say I had the best time.

Here is a very small sampling of our time.

We met this man who did pottery out of his home. He did amazing work without the help of any modern technology. It was amazing. He lived in a small shack in his parents backyard with his wife and four children.
This is where he would fire all of the pottery. It was in the side yard and he would have to wait until the outside elements were perfect to start the "kiln". It sounded like that would happen in the middle of the night, like 1 a.m.!! Truly amazing.
The best chics on earth and I don't mean the one with the brown hat!!!

The most beautiful sunsets.

My computer is not cooperating tonight so I will have to download more pictures tomorrow.
